Default Anyone try this back seat mod?

I have been thinking about it but am not sure if I should do it or not. Is it worth the reward?

I have been thinking of doing this myself. I read about this on SSS site a while back and seen some pictures of it when completed, and there is a pretty big area for storage back there. The only thing is I will have to dress that area up with carpet because mine has that insulation board back there. Mabe get some from a regular cab truck and fit it in.
If you need the storage space I think it would be worth it.

but you loose the ability for anyone to sit back there or to set anything even kinda heavy in the back seat right? If so it does not sound so good. But what if you got the brackets from an older gm like the 96-99 trucks they folded down like that and are still a functional seat.

I'd rather leave mine alone that way if someone broke into the truck it would be alot harder for em to get my amps lol.

I did it to mine last year.
It works great, you can use the seat just like before.
To release the back, just lift the bottom, and then fold down the back.

No you can still do whatever you like with your back seat you did before. All this does is allow you to fold it down for extra storage.
I am gonna take my seat out to see exactly what I would be gaining before any modifying I do. See if its beneficial.
What kind of heavy stuff you put on your seat anyway?

I did it. Its pretty cool. I have my amp mounted back there. Quite a bit of room and you dont loose any functions of the seat that you had before.

it dosent take away from any of the seats usability as long as you cut the tab the right length

Another question I thought of is with the seat up and driving, does it rattle since it is unhooked?
