I have done it both ways, spray and the brush on. I like the brush on much better. It is easier, durable, and looks great. With the brush on there is very little taping off, other than the wheel there is nothing to remove, and it has a nice smooth finish.

I sprayed mine a few days ago. Seems pretty durable but i'm not sure how it will hold up.

The Duplicolor kit is good. Just use the cleaner that it comes with and wipe/scrub them down. I painted both the caliper(blue) and center part of the rotor(black). It lasted me 2 years before coming off slightly (in the north).

I did the cheapo brake spray can on my Trans Am. Cleaned with brake cleaner. I had to grind calipers for the weld drag rims. So I smoothed them up. They turned out looking slick. But over spray sucks. If I do it again it will be brush.

Used the duplicolor kit a couple years ago, still holding up good. On my mustang I used high heat engine paint, holds up just as well and looks good, but more work for the same results IMO.
