I am looking into getting some 22's or 23's and wanted to know what the largest tire i could put on them was without rubbing. Also wanted to know how bad braking is after, I noticed a big difference between the stock rims and my 20's. Any info would be great.

 

My uncle has a set of 24's on his SS. I assume the wheelwells are the same. Yes, the brakes don't stop the same. Any bigger and they (the place he got them) would have recommend he get bigger brakes, but with 24's they said he was borderline okay.

At least he'd have plenty of room behind those huge wheels, eh?

I bet 20" discs would stop that thing pretty quick!

 

I have an 02 Yukon with a 3/5 DJM drop on 22x9.5's. The tires I'm running are 305/40-22's. No real rubbing issues.

 

ive got 24s on my 01 sierra with 305/35/24 bfgs and they dont rub. of course my trucks isnt lowered either.

 

Have 22s on the Escalade project. Went with the big Brembo brakes. It stops much better.

 

Good, I want to keep stock ride height just put some large rims tires on, I like the info I have read on the falken stz-04 want the 305/40/23. Anyone running these, they have a 50k mile warranty. I have heard that if your running 24's up you need a brake upgrade, 23's are just about there. Doubt drilled and slotted will do much by themselves, might get the baer +1 kit a lil later.

 

My 285 45 22 tires rub just a little . 305 45 22 rub alot . They will also slow you down . I picked up 3 tenths using stock 20's

 

I have 24" Giovanna Abruzzo's on my 2003 Tahoe Z-71. The truck is lowered about 6". I had to trim a small amount of the inner fenderwell. Most of the 22", 23" and 24" tires are similar in overall outside diameter. I realize there are several different sizes though.

Here's my theory, I'm not sure if this is rightbut I'll post it anyways. I think rim size dosen't really matter it's the tire size. Stock tire size is 30 inchs (I belive) you could probably go a couple inchs bigger without rubbing. If you don't drop your truck you could get the Lexani Johnson (27 Inchs) currently the biggest rims on the market. The only problem would be finding a inch and a half tire. 27+(1.5 X 2)=30 Inchs. Also, another problem would be the fact that it's $1085 per wheel.

The 27" Johnson uses a 22" nitto tire.
