I had my brand new from the box centerlines p/coated last year, looked good but started to flake and oxidize after one season, the p/coat was lifting off [removed from truck in fall]
I had to have the p/coat stripped and the wheels repolished at considerable expense.
the issue is that the polished wheels have nothing for the p/coat to bond to without a primer or etching, either of which will, of course, dull the finish of the wheel.
i got some zoops , I used the zoops metal polish that came with the kit and it is awesome. if the sealer works as good, I'll be happy

Well two of the wheels are showing some signs of the clear coming off, I will take pics soon. The thing is that there needs to be a surface for the clear to attach to, and polished wheels don't have and pours for the clear to get into to make a good hold.

I would definitely do it again but only if they would warranty the finish for a few years. Still cheaper than Zoops over a few years. I'll let you know when I contact the powder coat shop soon.

intro is putting some kind of clearcoat on their wheels when you buy new if you pay a little extra. it seems to hold up great and you cant even tell its there.

are you guys sure about the bonding issues with the powdercoat??? Because it is suppossed to bond due to a static charge. Thats why you have to ground out what you are powder coating, some kind of static cling method.
