Another drop and tire question, I know I know its been asked too many times

Hey guys I know that this question has been asked many times here, but I need to know a few things. Ive looked through the old threads to see if my question was answer, but it really wasnt.
My question is Im going to do a 2/4 drop on my 2wd 04 Silverado. At the same time Im going to be buying a set of CenterLine 20X8" rims with a 5" backspacing. With that rim and drop how wide of a tire can I go? Ive seen some trucks here and else where with 285/50s which look good to me, but I dont know if that size will work with my drop without any problems or stick out. I would also like a tire that will fill the wheel wells pretty good.

some will tell you they will some will tell you they won't
I'm ran a 2/4 with 285/50/20's and rubbed some. My rims also have 5" of backspacing but on 20x8.5 rims. I would run 275/45/20's just to be safe, and they will look better on your rims anyways.
