I haven't found much of anything on this. I have an 06 Sierra 1500. I like the 99-02 chrome grill shell better, less chrome in your face and a better shape IMO.

Will the grill shell be a direct replacement? I assume so, just wanted to be sure. I want to keep the 06 bumper.

yes it will fit, I did the 03-07 grille on my 02 yukon but I had to remove the little locking tabs because the 03-07 grille just clips in and the 99-02 uses little tabs that turn and lock.
