I know Im gonna sound like a smartass anyway I say this so here goes my most polite attempt. Whens the last time you saw a Pro Stock drag car go down the track on 20+ inch wheels? When folks run 15" and 16" wheels at the track its for a reason. Weight and rotating mass. Its the same reason lifted trucks are slower. Bigger tires and wheels take more power and torque to transfer to the ground. Even when you go with different gears its still the same concept. Im sure a set of 24"s would feel great with some 5.88 gears but its just not reasonable.

Oh and if youre on the stock brakes and you do your own brakes. Go ahead and buy a brake lathe. Any hard braking will warp your rotors somethin fierce. If it were me Id go for a set of 22"s and upgrade to a good set of calipers and slotted and dimpled rotors. Youre still going to lose power but not quite as much. And keep a set of stock wheels for the track. Ive got 20"s on my truck and Im going to 22"s but thats for the street. At the track ive got a set of 17" work truck wheels with a short tire on them.

I might keep my 17" stockers and maybe get a set of DRs for the back two.
