I'm wanting to do mine too but I was quoted $550 at the stealership and $225 for the bumper pad. I need to start hunting a used one down.

Try going to some auto body shops and ask if they have one laying around... got my Tahoe grille shell that way.

umm as long as they have one in stock, i could do it alot. I'm not sure how they keep stock on things like that, but I bought mine about 3 months ago, so I'm sure they probably have at least one in stock.

However the grille does not come with a bowtie, and I had to pay $40 to get one at the dealer

I see where you got it...www.certifit.com they have a store in San Antonio too so I would need to check it out to compare with an OEM. I am skeptical about certain aftermarket parts. Don't know about yours but al local store carries them here also and the bowtie doesn't fit the same as the original. I bought an aftermarked hd hood when I was getting my truck painted last year and had to return it twice cause they would come dented and were not as sturdy as the OEM so I just returned it and bought the OEM. Same thing with a ready to paint grill from Stylin Trucks, very flimsy and bowtie wouldn't fit right so it also got returned.

I'm sure mine is quite as sturdy or nice as an OEM grille, but who cares? I dont put weight on the front or hit it with anything. I put it on the front and its only there for looks. I'd rather spend what I did for it, then $700+ for a stupid factory grille.
