Default 2/4 drop with 305/40/22...will it work???

I'm getting a '05 Sierra ecsb and want to have my wheel and tire combo ready to go. I plan on doing a 2/4 drop. I have seen pictures of trucks w/ a 2/4 and 285/35/22's and just want to fill the gap a little more. Will a 305/40/22 work with a 22x10 w/ 6" bs? or should I just do a 3/5 drop and get the same size tire? I will be towing the formula with this truck so I think I will be c-notching and putting on the helper bags already...if that makes a difference. Everyone seems to like djm and mcgaughy drop kits...is there a benifit of one over the other? Thanks for the help!!!!

It should work. I used to have a 2/4 on 305/40 22. I had to cut my front well a little.

I have a 2/4 drop with the 285/35/22 setup, the 40 series will rub on the inside rear of the fender when you make a turn.
Thats the problem I had when I wanted to go with the 40 series tire, so I had to get the 35 series tire.
It rides a little rough, but thats the price for looking good.

Either kits are good! Heard nothing but good things about them. Im still debating myself which one I want. Difference is Mcgaughy's Deluxe kit uses spindles and the DJM uses Control Arms. I say go with a 3/4, but Mcgaughy's doesnt have that drop DJM does.

Helper bags will make a big difference for towing!

I have 285/35/22's on my wheels with 6" backspacing on a 2/4 drop. You are going to need more backspacing in the front even with 285/35's. Mine rub in the front when i hit a decent sized dip in the road. I would go with at least 7" of backspacing in the front, but the 6" should be fine in the back but i am sure you will need to roll the fender lip. You could prob do a 6.5-7" on the back and do a 305/40/22 if you are not worried about rotating your tires. It all depends on what look you are going for.
