Lightbulb 03 Light Conversion

Okay, so I just bought a set of the 03 lights and attempted to put them on my truck (2000 Chevy Silverado). I have now found out the hard way that the plugs on my lights are different than the plugs for the new lights. I figured as much since I knew there was also a fourth light added.

Has anyone found this to be true with their lights? What is the best/easiest fix? Are the lights on the 03 different between the GMC and Silverado?

Also I have noticed on the pair of lights that I picked up that there is no post for the retainer clips to pass. (IE the snaping that happens when you seat the bulb housing in all the way..) Is this the case on all of these lights or is it just this set?

Thanks in advance.

I've got an 03 sierra and I had the olds (They didn't put the Chevy 03's in the GMC's). I bought some 03's last year and had the same problem. You have to have a wiring harness for them. BUT, I didn't use one on mine. I just notched here and there and made em fit. But with the harness you'll get a 4th bulb. You can find the part numbers for it here: http://www.gmfullsize.com/Tech%20Pag...20Numbers.html

So with the new wiring harnesses it should be just plug and play I take it? Or will i have to splice into the lines to make the new harness work, and remove the olds....? Thanks for that link, that rocks!!!

Does anyone know how much these cost or where I can get them online???

I looked on their online store and didn't see the harness's listed anymore, try emailing to find out if they still make them

correction: the kit that street inspired kustoms has only add the fourth socket in. Its an add on to your existing wiring unit. I talked to the owner and was curious about the same thing. I suggested to him that they come up with a kit that converts the 00-02 to the 03 and he agreed so maybe something is in the works. but Im looking to buy the whole 03 wiring harness if anyone has them or can get them!! LET ME KNOW...

thanks

Have you tried a salvage yard or anything? The harnesses from the 03's will work in your truck. Just plug and play. I did this on my 01 GMC.
