vortec max vs SRT 10 quad cab
#11
Driver skill seems to be the deciding factor for performance on the SRT trucks. I've heard RCSB SRT trucks run everything from high 12's to low 14's and QCSB SRT trucks running low 13's to high 14's. I think both of these trucks are a big waste of money, especially the Quad cab trucks. If you're looking for a fast family hauler, the TBSS would be my choice!!

All depends on which brand your loyal too, of course you chevy guys are going to say stick with an SS, but I'd take a Grand Cherokee Srt-8 which flat out beats the TBSS but as usual with a Dodge Product costs more.
As for the srt-10, why get that when you can make your regular old hemi run just as fast for 20K less.

CAI, headers, exhaust, cam's, heads, superchargers, and custom tuning are all available for the srt-8's though dollar for dollar the chevy will still be cheaper. With the 5.7 and 6.1 being almost identical a lot of the go fast mods available to the ram have been adapted to the 6.1L.
Makes me gelious that they have more custom tuning for them then the 6.1's little brother even though there's 100 times as many 5.7's out there.

I read the following from Road & Track magazine... "Powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI engine producing 420 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has an SRT-engineered full-time four-wheel-drive system. With a 0-60 mph time of less than five seconds, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is quicker than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the BMW X5, and is the second-quickest SRT vehicle, eclipsed only by the 510-horsepower Dodge Viper SRT10, Jeep said in a news release."
Found this... "SRT focuses on five key areas: exterior, interior, braking, ride/handling and powertrain, with a guiding philosophy of providing the best performance at the lowest price. The muscular HEMI V8 is the heart of the beast, and the advanced heavy-duty 4WD lets it work equally well on- and off-road. Propelled through a 5-speed AutoStick automatic and snubbed by big 4-piston Brembo brakes at all four corners, this near-4,800-lb. SUV can sprint from zero to 100 mph and back to zero in about 19 seconds. The ride/handling balance is steady thanks to SRT-tuned springs, shocks, large stabilizer bars and the all-season 20-inch tires. Steering is precise; braking is linear, stable and powerful." in auto media .com. Many write-ups said basically the above.
Based on that, I think we can safely say, the Cherokee SRT8 won't have much trouble from any "SS" truck/suv product when both are stock. I'm really not a Dodge fan(though I do like Jeep in general), but this SRT lineup is pretty nice and it's a standout in the Grand Cherokee. I'd rather pay more for that than the TB-SS or the S-SS if looking for performance oriented similar vehicles.
