Default Things I like to do

I'm at work early sitting at my desk laughing my *** off, for on the 5 mile trip to work today I had a pleasurable ride.

My relationship with my truck is a love/hate type of affair...boring as *** to drive around as a commuter car with nearly 600 ponies but only using 50 most of the time with converter slip and stop and go traffic. Sometimes really I want to get rid of her and buy something more suitable...like a late model vette for example ...

but this morning I love her. Here's today's story!

Fat older guy (yes, can you imagine?) in a Late model Ford truck, xcab 150 (?) cutting through traffic and acting like a real jerk cutting off cars, exceeding the speed limit and driving like he thinks he owns the road.... doesn't he know the ROAD IS MINE!!!!!

I use some well learned tactics to out maneuver him, read the cars ahead and get up to the light along side..

He looks over at my GMC as if it isn't a threat and the light greens...I try NOT to leave a patch in 2wd but it's difficult and make little chirps at the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts as I easily leave him in my exhaust but that wasn't convincing enough for him so he gets along side me again at the next light. Now he has a look of strong-willed determination, he MUST beat this GMC who came from nowhere to put a damper on his happy morning...

One foot on the brake, one on the gas....light greens and I roll on it, I'm ~1 truck length in front and I mash it just smoking the tires for a few seconds to let him know, without doubt, that there isn't a prayer for him in this world...smoke softly passes over his windshield as I calmly cruise workword, he slows to the speed limit....WHAT? no more aggressive behavior? No more! He drives like he knows he is driving a Ford (no offense to those modified Ford drivers) and behaving like a regular gentleman....

So you see, I have improved the quality of life for many, my job is rewarding. You can rest assured that if there is a but-hole driving in your neighbor hood that I won't be far.

Yeah I know in a vette I'll be a target for all the nasty trucks that have something to prove and more likely the one to get nailed by the cops but I've always wanted one...and a GTO, and a GS and a Challenger and .... lol.

If you knew how little I get into boost you'd understand why the truck can be such a bore. I live in a city, a big one, spread out and not too crowded like LA but it's still a city.
San Jose is the 10th largest city in the USA and the 3rd in CA. Clean and pleasant but not too much area to really get up to speed.
