Tahoe-2, Mustang GT-0 (4.6L)
Not really racing, just some shenanigans at lunch…
I'm at a red light in the left lane. 2 lanes merge into 1 lane fairly quick after the light. Mustang GT (4.6L) pulls into the right lane. The only reason any one at this light does that is to launch quick and get ahead of the line. We all do it, and I’ve done here before so I know what’s coming on green. The Mustang had exhaust work and lots of flames on it but other than that I dont know. The Tahoe is pretty tame at idle so I don’t think he was expecting anything. Light goes green and we both launch. Neither of us too hard because he figures I’m an easy kill in my big fat 6,000lb grocery hauler.
As he realizes he’s not passing me he stomps it and I do as well. He spins, I don’t lol. As I blow past him he snaps his head over and the look is hilarious. Imagine the kids from home alone with his hands on his face except his hands were on the steering wheel. Both eyes like 50 cent pieces and his mouth open. I literally LOL’d. So he merges behind me.
We get to another light and he pulls up next to me and stares. I look back and roll my window down, he rolls his down. Before I say a word I hear “You got a blower on that thing?” I said “Yep”. He asked “What kind” and I said “Magnacharger”. He just looked confused. I think he was expecting me to say a KB because of the whine. Anyway….
As he’s looking confused the light goes green. His buddy in the passenger seat says “go go!” and waves him to take off. Well I see his buddy and launch as soon as he does. He spins, I spin (a little) my tires grab and I put a car on him in about 2 seconds and he just gives up.
I had 2 friends in the truck with me and I told them “Right now he’s trying to explain why his sports car lost twice to a full size SUV” Then I laughed, and all was good. Then I ate a quesadilla for lunch.
