Question should i be suprised or dissapointed?

I have a 95 r/c short bed 350 tbi and i am actually hanging and beating brand new chevy's v8's. What is the deal its all stock with a flipped lid. on 20' rims most of the time i start passing them at around 80 mph. From a dig depending on launch i usually leave even and we stay even but i slowly start walking.I have posi trac. I know my motor is known for low horsepower thats why dont mess with it but im changin my mind.

It depends on what kind of new Chevy trucks you are racing. If you are slowly walking away from extended cab trucks with the 4.8, I wouldn't be too excited. However, if you are racing regular cab 5.3 trucks, you have a quick truck! 1995 350's are decent but they are not Vortec engines. My friend has a 1993 RCSB 350 Silverado and I thought it was fast for a truck...until I got my truck!

You have to be careful on this board because of the abundance of ls1based truck but i also have a pre ls1 truck, mine is an excab 97 5.7 vortec and it will beat stock 4.8 and 5.3 excabs. Im not saying my truck is a speed deamon but i have not lost to a stock or near stock excab 5.3 yet, but i have gotten my *** handed to me by some modded ones.(cammin03 and my bro in his ss).

95rst. My bone stock 2000 EC Silvy Z71 5.3 ran 10.7 in the 1/8th with 32" tires. So it sounds like you ran into some bad drivers...

You have a good platform to build upon. But your motor is not a big performer. Somewhere in the 17's, 18's or so in the 1/4.

You do have a few things going for you, and parts for your motor are CHEAP!

Reason why I bought my 2000 was my buddy in his new demo 00 5.3 xcab 4x4 walked away after 65MHP against what I thought was a good running 96 5.7 vortec xcabZ71 with JBA headers, hypertech, volant, single catback.
