I really wouldn't consider it their muscle car considering they have the 662hp gt-500...hell they even had the boss 302 for two years as well. The 5.0 is only their 3rd quickest mustang from '11+ lol

A mustang is a mustang regardless what engine it has in it. What I'm saying is its there flagship muscle car. It's not that impressive for all the hype.

I have yet to see a impressive 5.0 mustang run at the track.

A bone stock 5.0 will run bottom 8s @ 88mph roughly, let alone a full bolt on 5.0.

I'm sorry, with a competent driver you aren't touching that... And I'm talking from a dig, from a roll it would look like you were sitting still.

Not knocking on anybody's ride, just telling it how it is. I also am not saying you didn't beat a 5.0... You pulled one, and probably had a 2.4 60' with grandma shifting. Even an average driver in a 5.0 would easily run mid 8s @ 85+mph.
That track is considered garbage, most dont hook. Someone with a stall and AWD, like JC, will win most if not all of his races vs street cars. On a decent track stock 5.0s have seen mid to low 8s. My coworker with a stock 2011 6spd has seen 8.7 @85 with traction issues and clutch issues (typical on the earlier 6spds) at this very track JC runs at. Ive met several Intake/tune only 6spd auto 5.0s at PBIR, our closest 1/4, run very low 11s @ 112-114mph (high 7s 1/8th).

Default Chevy Daddy

IMO car vs truck. Don't know where to start. We are dealing with a physical disadvantage of weight = speed in a world based upon physics as the law of the planet. Make the truck super moded. That way it can take a stock to mild/mid car. If the car is mid to super moded that's a different story..... Now about Top end pull on hwy roll, let some if these guys roll up against a Beamer 3/5 series on a hwy roll. Then tell me how nice their hwy pull really is...

Noise is relative.
Speed is relative.

Relative is different to each person.

i was at heartland park kc2k14 streetcar takeover and raced a new 5.0 on a pro tree. beat his 13.522@111.19 to my 13.556@ 100.98. treed him for the win. then i ran a supercharged mach1 with 10psi. beat his 13.673@109.86 with my 13.478@101.30. was a good day for this chevy guy. my truck is dod/vvt cam only stock 5.3 longblock. check my public profile for mods. 4360lbs. without me in it.

5 point slows are slow.... my friends c5zo6 with an X pipe and tune DESTROYED a boss 302 in the 1/2 mile. thats just the vette... my other buddy has the new 5. slow an a vortec supercharged 2002 4.8 rcsb. he drives the truck most because its consistently faster than the stang. and he payed less for it too!
