07 had problem with cams breaking, but 08 & 09 didn't have a problem. At the same time gm have problem with liffters making noise in there motors and cold start knocks. All companies have there share of problems.

hmm a camshaft that could break or noisy lifters? i guess theres no real difference there.

I like the looks of almost every full size out there, I just don't like most of their powertrains.

YI just finished reading all these replys and I'm not sure who said what, but I'll reply in general. Congrats on the win against your buddies truck. Somebody said that the Tundra has an ok aftermarket, that's not true at all. The Tundra has no aftermarket at all. There's no heads, cams, tuning or anything like that out. You can get a transmission and a supercharger. That's it. For those of us that want to stay with the motor there's nothing. I agree that Tundra straight out of the box are the fastest trucks (as long as lined up with a truck of comparable weight) out, I also agree that when you start adding mods there's not a truck out there that can touch the Silverados. I own a double cab, short bed Tundra that weighs in at 5200 lbs. With nothing more than a drop in air filter, exhaust work, and changing my fluids to Amsoil I ran a 14.06@97 with a 2.0 60' on 255 street tires. Since then I've swapped my steel wheels for aluminum, added an x pipe, and leaned my truck out from 10.5 at WOT to 13.0 at WOT. Unfortunatly I haven't been back to the track since those mods, but I should now be in the high 13s. For the money I've got in it and the truck being as heavy as it is I am very proud of that. In responce to the gas mileage, I get 14mpg around town and 20 on the highway. I also don't believe a stock 6.2 could beat a stock Tundra. They make comparable power at the crank, but the Tundra has other things going for it from the factory that the Chevy does not.

Please post some slips of those runs. Fastest Reg cab that I have seen with the same mods only went 13.8s. Stock 14.1 for the reg cab. With your extra weight, I cant see it. Now they are fast as I have always said, but I havent seen a double cab do that yet with just air filter and exhaust. Get a video of that toyota as well, not many here and it would be good to see some videos of what it can do.

Lol, slips and videos are not a problem. I get people who don't think this big truck can run like that all the time. Here's the link to the slip of the 14.0 run: http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x...man03/scan.jpg. and here's a link to the video of the 14.0 run: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0x0sa6f...ient=mv-google

As I stated I haven't been back to the track since that run, but I've ditched the steel wheels for aluminum ones (saved 9lbs per wheel), added an x-pipe, and leaned out my truck from 10.5:1 to 13.0:1 a/f ratio at WOT. With those mods and my previous time I feel it's safe to say I can run in the high 13s now. I know what you're saying about the fastest time N/A being a 13.8 from a standard cab. I'm dying to get back to the track so I can set the record in a double cab.

I will have to check out the video later, the filters at work wont allow it. Thats a sweet time though, hope you break the record with the double cab.
