I thought running race gas in an untuned (for that octane) engine would actually damamge it, not improve performance. You can't take a stock engine and put 100 octane in it and expect it to be faster.

You need a N2O kit and a tune or expect to lose. If its all in fun then fine but dont go bettin money.

im not going to invest in a swap in this pos( air doesnt work, gas gauge doesnt work, tailgate wont open, tailgate cables are broken, base work truck, hit small deer and busted front grille, and I HATE V6S especially in fs trucks)... im going to sell it and get a 4.8 and swap for a 408 or 418 would be cheaper and a 4l80e with 373 lsd
100 shot maybe
in near future

1Slow i actually ran 110 octane in my cammed 93 jeep cherokee. Completely stock 203,000 mile internals, it definetly cleaned it out. No ****, it actually would idle between 1100 and 1300 rpm sittin still, it was crazy

I'm sure it will run in the engine but I don't think its good for it. I remember awhile back somebody was at the track and out of gas and was wondering if they could put a couple gallons of 104 octane in his truck just to get to the nearest gas station and everyone was telling him not to do it. I'm not sure why, I would think it would burn to hot and on stock timing could do damage. This guy needs more than good gas anyway. He putting his heavier, unmodified truck up against cars that are modded and lighter. It's like lining my Tahoe (in unmodified form) up against a RCSB with nitrous and/or turbo. Waste of gas, no matter what octane

i have found that if you put some good gas "93" in the tank and make sure to put an octane boost with a injector cleaner in there it runs better. oh and off the light get on the brake and get you rpm's up to about 2k.good luck with that

yeah no joke... you need some serious motor work of you even ever consider lining up against a completely stock t/a.. much less one with anything at all done to it.

if you really want to sqeeze everything just go ahead and cut your cat and muff off. that will give it some ummmp. but still not gonna be enought. u may be able to beat the honda's off line but once they get into 2-3 they will be gone. i got a friend of mine with a B18 10PSI turbo V-tech honda and we are just dead even no matter wat. the 3000GT will be the 2nd heaviest car there so that would be your best bet.

Actually there is no non-turbo VR4. It's either a VR4 and turbo AWD (which runs low 13s stock for a 98 model) or an SL/base with an NA engine, fwd. If it's a DOHC engine it'll run deep into the 15s stock, SOHC, 16s.
