The tune is also different which would help explain the difference in power too...

Well obviously the tune would have to be a little different if for no other reason than the higher compression, but to make that kind of power increase wouldn't it have to be a premium fuel only tune?

99-00 Lq4 191/190 .457/.466 114
01-04 Lq4 196/207 .467/.479 116
02-03 Lq9 196/207 .467/.479 116

Seems to support what you guys are saying.

LQ9 is a 5.3 rt.? and Lq4 is the 4.8 im geussing. i knew wut it was befor but since forgot.

Both LQ#s are 6.0L
LR4 is the 4.8L
LM7 is the 5.3L

lq9 is generally stock motor in the HD version of the 1500 and 2500's

lq4 is generally stock motor in the non hd 2500 versions... both 6.0 like stated above...

well with your stock tuning on the truck with the tow/haul mode pushed on then your shift points at wide open throttle (wot) will be 5200 1-2 and 5200 2-3, without tow/haul at wot 1-2 5800 and 2-3 will be 5200 stock tuning.

I know you feel like you have more hp at part throttle with the tow/haul on but all it does is move your rpms up using part throttle, but under wot it moves it down for some reason.
