New respect for SRT-4s
#1
A friend of mine and I were cruising down Hwy 70 going about 65-70.I decided to let my friend drive the truck since his SS is down and out.So we're just driving along and this silver SRT-4 starts pacing us.By this time we're doing 70 and I just told my buddy to go for it.He punches it and we pull a car and a 1/2 on this kid.The thing is though that's as far as we got before he stayed w/ us.So we both shut down and the passenger in the Neon counts down 3-2-1 and we go again from 70.This time we lose him by a car and that's it.We shut down at 100 or so and he stayed w/ us roughly a car back.Needless to say he wasn't stock but it's still a kill for the L.

Had you raced from a stop, you would have taken him by bus lengths! I've raced plenty of cars that kept up from a roll, but the same cars were destroyed form a stop. I raced an SRT-4 twice from a stop and it wasn't even close.
It's just the nature of the L...not necessarily always good on a roll.

I wouldn't class the SRT4 as a ricer, its not jap.............but if you think the SRT4 is quick, I've got a shelby turbo dodge that will smoke most all of them. Full street legal car with slicks and race fuel and will run an 11.2 quarter mile. The cars are really impressive considering what they are, a stage III srt4 is easily capable of low to mid 12s. It has better or just as good of track times as the new mustang GT and sells for about 7K less, and mods up way better. The sad thing about it is that kids that get them usually don't know how to drive them, but with a person that understands how to drive a turboed car, its another story.

At one point I was looking into getting an SRT-4 for my comuter car. It's a good little car for the money.

Do not doubt the srt-4, one of my good friends and an avid mopar fan(hes been hotrodding for a LONG time) who has a big assortment of trucks, muscle cars, and 4 bangers(owns his own shop, etc etc, older guy). The thing is I was one of those guys that hates 4 bangers, and well i road in his deff not stock srt-4. *shakes head* deff not a car to take lightly.
