Default n2o Blazer vs. Lightning & SRT-4

Well went to the meet on sat. and saw a kid from school with a lightly modded lightning and he asked if i wanted to go so we did. I was surprised b/c i was only on a 50 shot.... but had good bottle pressure 1100 But then i went against a stock SRT-4 and i thought to have it even be close with the stock srt-4 was crazy.... but i guess the run low to flat 14's so wasnt that surprising.....(nitrous was cutting in/out and finnally just cut totally out against the SRT-4 which ment a loss for the blaz.......

I was only running a 50 shot last night (Forgot 75's @ home)

The lighting had Nitto555r's, traction bars, intake, exhaust, shift kit-
We went from a dig on both runs-
1.) Launch with lighting and dead even through first gear, we hit second and starts pulling away, by 70 he had a length and a half on me (BTW i let him heat up the DR's)

2.) launch with lightning and even through 1st, bye 70 had a good length on me.
Was gonna go with the 75's but didnt have them....

THE SRT-4- RUNNING OUT OF NITROUS AHHHHH!!!!!
From a dig-
1.) Rape him off the line and jump out about 2 1/2 lengths, hit second nitrous cutting in and out, and bye third nitrous cut's out and the SRT-4 rapes me

2.) From a 20 roll (where the SRT-4 is spooling)- even to about 65 and then he starts pulling away and had about a length and half bye 80-

All in all two good races and i will be back with the bigger shot and exhaust next week (hopefully) and make another go @ both those guys- although i was surprised-

All in all once again thanks to the sponsers who made it all possible

50 shot making a 16 sec SUV run with 13 second vehicles? Hmmm. Bad drivers? heh.

I don't care what kind of tires he's runnin, if he stomped it from a dead stop, he'd light them up. 400+ lbsft of tq can break them loose real easy. Not saying you didn't do well, and you're right, take what you can get. But understand that if the both of em had been better drivers, it would've been much worse.

Lightnings are a b**** to launch.Of course I'm still running street tires which makes it harder but anyways like 203cree said with that kind of tq along w/ no weight in the back it's tough.

Things to do for traction

1)Lower the rear end some , ESPECIALLY AN 03-04 L!

2)Drag radials....if you're anything over stock there is no question on this. Run them at 20-22psi or the center of the tire goes fast. I'am on my third set. The last two sets I ran at 26psi and that was still to much.

3)remove a leaf spring to aid in weight transfer.

4) Rancho type traction bars, these help significantly with wieght transfer. I ran slapper bars for a while and they are marginal.

5)Lower the tire pressure on the stock tires, the recommended 32psi is way too much for good traction. If I recall I usually ran 26psi.
