well i cam to a red light with a wrx sti whilke waiting at the light i kept hearing the eng rev up a little (appaerntly they were in the wrong lane and needed in mine) so i said well its raining oh yeah 4hi b*tches. i figure awd against 4wd was fair. light turnb green i hammer it pull ahead immidiatly and stay there there head lights were at my tail light. they started to pull up a little by about 60 or so, so i slaped it back in 2wd but they never got farther than my tail light then i seen them slam the brake and get behind me and turn. its on this base so i wanna find who ever it was and see what it has. i know for a fact it had a turbo my wife rolled down the window to listen and you could hear the spool and the bov. oh and this was with $300 worth of food in the bed. gotta love it.

When I had my truck on stock injectors at 5psi I stayed right on the *** of a WRX but don't know if it was the turbo STI model. It did have the factory big *** wing on the back so who knows. I was actually holding back some too, I saw him look in his rear view mirror to see me still there.
I know what he was thinking but he turned off so i never got to go from a dig with him. I think he may have been holding back as well.

 

You have to be carefull with those WRX's and EVO's. Most are just stock, ricers. But there are those few that know what they are doing and have put some serious time and money into them. Seeing as how you have 4wd its easier for you to run with them on the street, but I know for me i have to really feather the gas to keep it from spinning to bad and get totaly killed out of the hole by them. yeah i love having 4wd its great. i was told there a cople that look alike on the base and one it a regular wrx but done up as a sti with the turbo and emblems and all but either way the 4.8 would have got smoked and i tore the wrx's *** up.

You know GM f*ck'd up building the 4.8 and 5.3,there no need for it.The 5.7 should have covered both.A dialed 5.7 would as good or better mileage.

 

so far it is don't wanna say anything yet. but yeah i'm tunning trims now when i get that striaght i'll do timeing it has bad kr at about 3600 rpm at full throttle but i think it is becouse of the fuel i had regular unlead in it for the 4.8 so i'm almost on e then i'll filler up with the good stuff. i put the felpro headgaskets on and they are really thin and acorrding to a calculator i found for ls1 compression i'm running 10.2:1 almost 10.3:1 its about .0001 away from 10.3:1 so i'm guessing yeah it needs good fuel lol.

 

no complaints here with my 5.3 gonzo.
naturally asperated, 12sec truck that get's 20mpg on the hwy.

You did a great job getting yours to run. just think if that 5.3 was a factory 5.7,knock off another .4 with everything else being equal.

 

if he had a hood scoop he was turbo'd. The stock wrx runs 14.5 maybe 14.3ish. The sti stock will run a 13.5. One computer mod and the wrx will run 13.8. The sti is a 2.5L were as the wrx is a 2.0. Soooo there is lots of room for improvement on the sti. My best friend and I keep trying to out do each other....his 3200 lb wrx vs my 5900 lb z71. I haven't been able to run the track yet but he has, 13.85 is his best and on the street I can rock him off the line and up to about 70ish mph as well, then that little feather starts to catch up...not by the time the 1/4 marker goes by though. Nice kill. You just don't know how pissed that guy was! Not chirping second isn't so bad when you are still kicking a sti's ***.
