Default lots of fun last night a few kills, and a headache

hey guys just wanted to fill you in on my night , got to race a 2wd lifted chevy from a dig from about 0-60 and got the kill, but the interesting story was the regency that was behind us. i got to talking to him at a light and all he said he had was a power programmer with all the other mods that came with the truck. well i asked him if he wanted to run at green and he said no because of cops, well to my suprise he gunns it at the light and takes the lead so i had to play catch up, but my question is if his is standard and mines a 5.3 auto would he still come out on top at the start????? my mods are flowmaster exhaust, cai, and a tune, so let me know if you can....

Most likey he would come off the line faster, given the fact that stock torque converters generally flash in the 1000s while with a manual you can dump the clutch at around 2-3k pretty safely.

Get a stall and you'll take any manual off the line very quickly though.

I wouldn't count on that, these trucks are very difficult to launch with the manual combined with the crappy low end of the 4.8. I'm usually doing pretty good to stay even with an auto for the first 60ft or so.
