Wish I found mine for that cheap! The more you burn 'em, the stickier they get.

Getting a quick 60' with a 2wd ECSB is a pain in the ***... We'll see here in a few weeks.

Did the 2 step (or launch control) come out on the turbo SS or did they have it on the S/C version? I knew of the "no lift shift" tho.

smokeshow, if street legals only night is on Sept.17th, will u have your (a) meth kit on? Might need it.

I had to laugh, "I wasn't expecting much from this car because of how easy it was to beat his friends cars."
And ...carefully lay down a patch in front of his Cobalt.

Spoolin, a 4,000hp Ecotec? I'll believe 400. Even 650+. I never heard of any pro drag racer running 4k tho. Maybe so, but ... And yes, those blocks are incredibly stout.

When I said this thread, I had to read it. I got to drive 1 of these lil bad boys at GM Tech Ctr. It was the SS S/C version, not the SS turbo. I enjoyed it, even tho it only had 205HP. Turbos came stock 260. It had the "NoLift" feature on that model yr. I will say this, I forgot whether it pulled from down low or up top cause it was a few yrs. ago, but what I do remember, & said to my bro when I got out; "it needs a tune & it'll be even better."

I seriously thought of gettin a turbo SS, but my drive is, uhh, a bit full. If not, I get 1 a do some mods. I wanted 1 so I can park my truck in winter & drive a CobaltSS during that time. My 1st mod would be:tear that big wing off!

The FWD would go thru the snow better than my lowered 2wd, & whenever I drove it, I could knock down 22/30 MPG or whatever stock #'s (I forgot). I'd get a stick too, & hopefully torque steer would be minimal & quality better than they usually get knocked for. It's the 1st FWD I actually wanted. 1 day if I get rid of a vehicle, I may get 1 of these to combat my truck's fuel "inefficiency".

I might have it by then, but I don't think I'd need it to beat him again. I'll be on slicks too, so my 60ft time will be way better. From the dig at the light I pulled off maybe a 2.4/2.5 60ft cause breaking loose would have killed me. That won't be an issue with the stickies

He was a beast from a roll though. I was out driving around last night, practicing some self-roll racing lol. Dropping into 2nd and just mashing it, I may have kept up with him, maybe half a car behind. Tried brake boosting at 40 and it just felt weird. Cobalt guy said to keep practicing, took him a while to get it too. Feels like I just load the converter and drive through the brakes before making a lot of boost though. Might practice some more.

2.4/2.5 60'? Is that normal on an EC or was that spinning? What does "drive through the brakes" mean / how's it done? My guess is that's when power exceeds brake holding capacity to hold back truck.
