First off sorry for the length of this thread. Headed to orange beach on the beach express. I hear a vehicle coming, look back and the headlights are very dim. I look beside me and its a 85 chevy truck. red primer side pipes and racing tires and wheels. He starts bouncing the front with the gas pedal then nails it. Against my better judgement I stomp it. I was at 55, at 80 I had maybe 3 trucks on him. I back out and the radar goes off. I look ahead bout a quarter mile and there's a cop. I slow down we go past the cop a couple of miles and here he comes again. This time I put the boost controller into it and its UGLY. We pull over at the next filling station. He tells me what he's got and that he wanted to mess with me b/c he didn't think that I had anything done and he wanted to hurt my feelings with his beat up truck. I asked him how it turned out and his exact words were "NOT TOO GOOD". I about fell out. He asked what all i had done told me nice truck and I was back on my way. A good end to the night.

 

Too funny, at least he wasn't hating and stopped to bs with ya.

All he said was that he had a 350 that had been gone thru whatever that means with a small cam and aluminum heads full exhaust. He also had 3.73 gears with the spider gear welded up. But he was cool. He was in his late teens maybe 20 but not with the attitude of these younger kids now a days. You could tell he had been raised right and did most of the work on his truck on his own. But its good to see that some kids are still being raised right.

 

sounds nice. i havent taken that beach express yet... i usually go through foley to get there. is it much quicker than the old way?

 

Depends on where you are headed to. If you are going to orange beach then the express is a heck of a lot faster. If you are just going to gulf shores then you can go down the beach express and get off right before the bridge and come back out on 59 just before the TRACK. That way saves you 5 to 10 mins but less cops and traffic plus its 55 the whole way. To orange beach saves you 20 to 30 mins.

 

haha, well Im glad ur opinion is changed about us "kids" must be a truck thing

 

i like to go whichever way there are less cops. i saw 12 state troopers on the way to work this past Friday. from mobile to pascagoula.... thats way too many!

makes me uncomfortable.

 

Don't get me wrong Most guys on here are cool. Just come to mobile and you will see a big difference with the younger crowd around here. My opinion around this site is nothing but respect.
