Default had a lil rice

riding on I-10 headed to Baton Rouge. we come along a honda civic(2 door) i notice the SI badge on the back, come along side the car notice the DOHC V-Tec sticker. my buddy is the one that noticed the 5" tach by the drivers A pillar an the 3 gauges on the passange pillar. i drop to 3rd an rev a lil...he drops down a gear and pulls really hard till hes forced to slow down. we finally get an opening but theres a car in my lane about 100' ahead..he decides he wants to run. well i drop it to 2nd gear an we start to roll upwards of 80. im closing in on the SUV but i have no room to change lanes, so i take the shoulder and win the race to 110. dumb and childish i know, not to mention could have killed all of us. i get on side of him an drop it to 2nd with a few jumps but he does the usual ricer move and ignores me. i dont think that was a real SI dohc v-tec car bc my buddy has a hatch with a K20 from an acura rst or w.e they are, that i cant touch.

ah i see. but like i said. Dumb and childish i know. it coulda killed us all.
so people running 130+ isnt dumb? or racing through traffic isnt dumb? or any thing else that involves racing? if i didnt think i had enough room, or was gonna hit a sign or such forth i woulda slowed down. everyone does something stupid, or to be a dumbass. its not like thats how i pass people when i go somewhere or thats how i drive everyday.

yeah i understand that everyone does something stupid...i have and i learned my lesson. i drive like a grandpaw now. i mean anytime you drive your life is on the line...at the hands of someone else normally. you dont want to end up dead, nor be that someone else. if it had been some other circumstance (cant think of one off-hand) then going that fast on the shoulder around someone might be excusable...but it was for the sole purpous of beating a ricer-civic with a 5" tach. not worth it IMO, and i love racing. just saying man, i dont even know you...but i'd hate to hear that you lose your life or take someone elses bc of something so silly.

rant over bro, lol.

and i'm 20 by the way, so dont think i'm some old fart

you ever get out to no problem or state capitol??

Running 130+? Not an issue with me, bobbing in and out of traffic, that's an issue, taking the shoulder, that's an issue. I've gone 140 or so in my old Tiburon GT. I'll take my truck as fast is it will go when it is fully built. BUT, I'm not going to go bobbing in and out of traffic, You can be Earnhardt Jr. for all I know, but you never know what some other person is going to do when they see you coming down the freeway. They may try to switch lanes, or God knows what else. I've seen plenty of and been in a few street races, most of them were with barely any cars on the road and plenty of straight away.

/Rant

Summary: We all have stupid moments, but so far you've taken the cake.

Edit: I'm 20 as well, so like he said. ^^

understood. thats why i pointed out yes i realize it was stupid and childish. i lost my best friend due to horse play and speed. i drive like an ole geezer but that day i wanted to prove i could keep up. i go to No Problem as much as i can but have never been to State Capitol. i heard state capitol has been redone and its Very nice. IMO No Problem has gone to poo, but its been sold so maybe the new owners will actually do something with it.
im 25 so dont think im some HS punk and his parents pay for everything, trust me im FAR from being a spoiled brat.
whats your truck run in the 1/4?
first time out my slow POS went 16.4 then w LT, ORY, Tune, P&P TB, Magnaflow exhaust went 16.0x but its retuned now so i should see 15.6-15.8 slow i know but my moneys tied up in an LSx swap

nice, man. yeah i've been to state capital once and i liked it...found i hooked much better there than at NP. i did go to NP since they redid the 1/8 or something like that and it seemed much better...didnt know it was sold off though, probably why i thought it was better haha.

my best time right now is a 14.75 @ 91, that was at NP on my friends 26" drag radials...it had also been raining most of that day but stopped enough for them to let us run, so the track was a little slick from the humidity in the area, and then the hot humid air on top of that. i think i can pull a 14.5 or lower in good air. i've got a 2600ish stall to throw in, some cal-tracs and a 218/222 cam...hoping for mid 13s on that setup
