Well Today I was on my way to the store from work, and at a light I ended up next to an obscenely high lifted cummins turbo diesel... And the guy looks over at me and said "when are you boys eevr gonna learn, a real man drives a dodge" I didnt even think about the fact that i had on a sleeveless shirt so you could easily see my bowtie tattoo.. So I was like what the hell is with this guy.

As the light goes green i nailed it. and got goin, but before the tq management even stopped working he had screamed by me in a big *** cloud of smoke.....

I dunno what he did to taht thing, but it was the loudest turbo wine i have ever heard, and he was pulling about 37-40 " tires on what had to have been a 8-14" lift..

That was one of the fastest diesels i have ever seen.

and i hate dodges... but if i could get his drivetrain in my truck without all that lift crap hes got i could fly...


either way i lost before the race ever started...

 

REPRESENT dosent take alot to make a diesel fast... odly enough i got walked by a QC duramax dualie, so i cant talk. it's much cheaper to make a diesel quick.

 

In thinking about it... that thing launches like ive seen some of the 12 sec trucks at pomona launch... im betting its between mid to low 12 possibly 11. could even be faster than that.

 

Yeah, that sucks. We spend so much on our gas engines and the diesels make the same power or more, but for a lot less money. ****, even less parts. Don't they run 13's with just a chip and exhaust?

 

It depends on the engine... but i know they can run over 800 lb/ft of torque daily, and still last for damn near forever... and no matter how much power you make you always use the same fuel.... no premium no race gas!!!

and im sorry if you get 800 lb/ft out of a gas engine.. even a 8.1... its gonna be race gas time!! and reliability will def be a question

 

You can be happy that atleast you can go through the drive through at McDonalds.

 

true..... I mean i like lifted trucks... But taht thing was just stupid high.... the only worse is this guy near me with a ford, that is liftyed so high when he disarms his alarm, a multistep almost ladder lookin thing swings down.... ive seen one step do taht but it was like 3.... i believe you should not be able to lift a truck that high.... its dangerous and stupid.... Im not trying to offend anyones taste... but those things never go ofroad either... if you did it would just fall on its side..... pointless waste of a truck

 

Damn right, i mean when i get beat by something, its always gonna be an 11 second vehicle or faster..... .....and if its not, it sure will be when i get done with the story.

Thats why i dont pick on diesels (or anything else actually) unless they approach me. Its one thing to be a dick and instigate a race, but you better damn straight win it or you're gonna be hiding in your basement for a few days. Nothing worse that sayin, "hey wanna run that slow POS?" and losing... .

 

I know my truck is aslow as hell... first of all 4.8.... second of alll stock....

But he was being a dick.... so i just jumped on it... i pretty much knew unless he broke.... i was losin.... but the only reason i posted this, is that thing was fast..... and had to have a hell of alot of torque... cause the back end dove on that thing when he dug outta the hole....

I've had a decent share of (very) fast car for my age... so i dont think my truck is even close to fast, quick, or anything short of a kia...... but what the hellll... i am to damn broke to make it fast right now

 

next time just race him around a curve
