The can trap around 94-96 stock. Thats not too bad in my book. Thats around 8-10 mph more than most stock chevys i have seen.

True but Im talking about for what they are. A supercharged V8, they shouldnt have detuned the motor. Im just saying with a few choice bolt ons a chevy can hang with them. My buddy has an 02 and when my truck was running with all the bolt ons and a tune plus my heavy *** sound system and 500# tool box and I could beat him by a truck to 100 and he had a pulley and exhaust. I know I had a lot more done but for all they are made out to be I think they are overrated.

I see what you are saying, but I imagine that a crew cab 5.3 w/a blower and 20s and low boost wouldnt produce any more than the ford.

Think base radix kit atleast 350 to the rear wheels where the HD trucks have what 340 at the crank big difference. Bottom line ford should not have detuned the engine and kept it at the hp and tq ratings the lightning has then it woudl have been a much better truck.

I wasnt really referring to hp numbers but i agree that the chevy would have more. I just havent seen any track numbers to back up that much of a difference, but i havent seen many of either one of those types of truck runs so i cant say much. Im with you about the detuning thing though. What all was done in the detuning, i thought they mainly brought the boost from 8lbs to 6 but im not even sure about that. Let me clarify my argument on here from earlier, i wasnt saying that these trucks were the fastest things out there, my point was that i didnt want some on here thinking that they were going to smoke them after reading your first post. Im not sure what those trucks dyno stock, but for the numbers they put out, i wouldnt be surprised if they were slightly underrated. Ford tends to do that some with there blown motors.
