stock rt 360 arent that fast,,,I have seen a rc rt race a rc dak with 5speed and 318 and the 318 won everytime,,,I had a friend that hooked a laptop up to his ec rt with somekind of program and everytime he would launch at the track the stock dodge program would pull all the timing out

stock R/T > Stock 318 5spd unless it launches.

How did he hook a laptop up to his R/T exactly? It is very difficult to get into these PCMs, not like a GM or Ford.....

How many power adders does he have? Blower, turbo, and nitrous? LOL

If his truck is not making any power tell him to STOP modding it and GET IT FIXED! Probably running on 7 cyl or something.....

I bought a 99' extra cab R/T new in 99'. It wouldn't get out of it's own way. It short shifted and wouldn't rev for ****. I gave it back a few monthes later on the "buy back" they did over the towing capacity problems. I replaced it with a Tundra extra cab that was just as fast, only more comfortable.
The day after I bought the R/T though I was beat BAD by an ex-cab 318 Dakota stick. And the next day My friends Tundra was dead nuts with me. That ruined it for me.
I've went the way of the Lightning since and never looked back...except at who I'm racing.

Yea my friend has an extended cab R/T with just exhaust and i raped him. I hear their intake and pcm are VERY restrictive and if you change those out they get a lot quicker but they are nice trucks, i like them

Yup. I could only get 170 miles to a tank of gas too. The Tundra cost the same to fill up but would get almost 300 miles to the tank. Of course my Lightning only gets 10-12 mpg around town. It's built though.

Tundra run low 16s, nowhere REMOTELY close to an R/T. I got 21.2mog on the highway on my R/T stock driving easy, and 17+ right now running rich (need PCM) making about 500whp......

Ill telly ou this much in my heavy *** truck back when I had redneck straight pipes, intake, and a tune I raced a ec r/t from about a 20 roll to 100 and I had him by about a truck length so IMO they arent as bad as they are made out to be. I dont know his mods, or if it was running right but I know he was racing me cause we were doing 100 in 40 down the middle of town.
