Default First time at Track

Ok saturday night was my first time ive ever driven on the track. Went to Byram and the short track (580feet). Ran against my friends 3000gt, i got up there and just turned my tires over just to clean them off. We staged, and the green light hits. here are the results:
Silverado-2nd run-3000gt
.603 -Reaction-.922
2.3 -60ft- 2.467
6.588 -330ft- 6.778
64.75 -MPH- 61.81
8.461 -ET- 8.753
.611 -Won By-
1st run
.986 -Reaction- 1.112
2.3 -60ft- 2.41
6.624 -330ft- 6.693
64.1 -MPH- 62.06
8.519 -ET- 8.654
.261 -Won By-

Met up with some guys there and they wanted us to meet up with them about 15 miles from the track.. I said OK.
here are the results:
99-02?? Silverado ECSB 3.42s w/ Hypertech, CAI, Flowmasters
He got the jump on me. but by 40mph i had caught up with him and then it shifted to 2nd and i left him like he was standing still. 3.5 lengths in the 1/4.

99-02? Silverado ECSB 3.42s W/ CAI, Flowmasters, 100Wet shot.
He jumped me out of the hole and about 50mph i caught up with him, when it shifted into 2nd i left him. i pulled him 2 lengths in the 1/4.

They were kindof puzzled when i opened up my laptop with EFI Live Running.. hahaha i only logged one of the runs.
but i had it running in real time. It was a very fun night.
and after 2 back to back runs my trans temps were only 149*.

my truck is in sig.
i have tuned it with EFI Live, and on them 4 runs i had some KR. so im workin on that right now to correct it.
and on the way home at 2:15am i hit 138 on the interstate.
my truck now pulls like a raped ape. and im hoping it will only get better.
Thanks for all yalls help with showing me things about EFI Live!!!
and thanks Jesse and Hannah Bubb for the awesome customer service!!

I am just curious what you were running with the Hypertech, how much time did you drop when doing your own tuning? My best with mods listed is 9.46 in the 1/8th with a trap speed of 74 mph and a 60ft of 2.1 That is a really fast truck for those mods. Sorry I just re-read the post, 1st time at the track. Anyway

00stepsyde, it is a night and day difference!! They hypercrapper is just a waste of money.. ive seen them list for $425 before.. you could spend an extra $275 and have EFI Live! or another tuning software. IT IS WELL WORTH IT!

The most confusing thing is, I cant figure out how i pulled 3.5 lengths on a similar truck with only difference is i have a magnaflow muffler, he had a flowmaster. I have my own tune with the EFI Live and he had a hypertech.
i could see maybe a truck length or a lil more.. its a lil confusing.

and the guy with a 100 wet shot.. i would think he would have been right beside me? or unless he never hit it? i looked under his hood and saw the crappy install of the Noids and nozzle. This idiot had it just stuck in the "flex" tubing on his intake! I could feel air coming around the nozzle! At first i thought he had a cam or something, because it wouldnt idle worth a crap.

But after i saw the Intake leak, i kindof put 1+1 together. These guys knew nothing about these trucks. The only one there that had a lil knowledge drove a 01 Maxima 3.0L V-6. That thing was pretty quick! We never got a chance to line up.

But its past my bed time now!
Later guys!
Jonathan

I think HPtuners is only $500 (at least it was when I got it) but I didnt get the hook up for the wide band. Tuning your own truck is definatly the way to go, or at least get a tuner to tune it. The hand helds are crap.
