I was driving along and spotted this blinged out lancer evo that just got off the highway. He turned onto the road I was on shortly after I drove by so I let him catch up and dropped it into 2nd gear and gave it a little gas to signal playtime
He bit instantly and gave chase after me. I laid into it as soon as I saw him start to speed up. The turbo had spooled by the time our bumpers were even. We stayed about even until about 75mph where my cam likes to wake up and then the race was over. I steadily pulled away from him til about 100, and then the damn MAF sensor blew off. Go figure... So, truck going insanely rich and barely running, I turned on my blinker slowing to like 20mph to turn into a parking lot. The evo turned in before me and we talked for a bit. Turns out he is running a completely custom forged engine, lightweight(?) crank, rods, pistons. Engine was bored to a 2.2l, running on 26psi. He was a pretty cool guy, definitely caught him off guard with the sleeper look
He's getting retuned today so I'm sure he's going to want to run again. But I'll be tuning mine as well since I'm still running rich on the old MAF calibration. Next time I'll have to get a video
The truck runs strong with the front mount and extra 1-2psi!

Good to hear the new setup is working out well
