Its been quite awhile since i actually had a fun ride home.
We were coming home from supper with a couple of our friends when we see this Trans Am gettin on the interstate. So of course we had to catch up to it and see if it was a V6 or not.. haha

Got close and noticed it had 2 huge tips and a Flowmaster and didnt sound like a v6. It was a convertable and he had the same County tag as me.
I stayed back from him until we finally got some clear road.
I eased passed him and blipped the throttle, he didnt bite so i backed off.

I couldnt get him to do anything so i got on it enough to get in boost and let the waste gate sound off when i got beside him...
He decided to bite that time so we slowed down to 60 and he got the jump on me. By 80 i had caught him and 130ish i had put some serious lengths on him..

I slowed down to 65 to let him catch up and i got my buddy to open the bottle this time just for fun. I let him get in front of me a lil and i purged the air out, then eased up beside him in 2nd gear. I gave him another blip of the throttle and he took off.. i pulled on him quite a bit to 120ish..

It was so funny cause the turbo was screaming right in his ear. We got off the same exit as we did so i eased as far to the right as i could and he came up beside me laughing.
Guy- "What you got in that thing?"
Me grinning- "Turbo and a 50 shot"

Guy- "I could have gotten you if i wanted to"
Me- "Really? What year is it?"

Guy- "Naa you ate my lunch man, its a 97"
Me- "AH, LT1?"

Guy- "yea with bolt ons and all the lil stuff, your truck is pretty insane to look stock. Hammer on it i want to hear it again"
Me- "Aight" I stalled it up and left him in a nice cloud of white smoke...


He was a cool guy. I hope to see him again to chat..

Anyway that was my interesting night.



I went to the 500' track again the other night and i ran a 7.951, 7.955, 7.958 @ 71 on my 275/60/16 Toyos hot lapping it. I ran the same times with the 26" DRs?? thats a 2-2.5" tire height difference.. 60's were 2.3s Toyos and DRs.
Now on spray it ran a 7.04, 7.05 @79 with a 2.02 60' on the DRs... but on toyos it ran a *cough* 8.1 and 8.6 *cough*.. it put on a good smoke cause i had a drag car beside me with open headers and i couldnt hear anything. i felt the rear kick out to the right and looked down and the speedo was moving fast but wasnt moving so i disarmed the spray and tried to peddle it the rest of the way.. NO go.. 8.6 second at 58mph.. 2.6 60'

I want to sell the DRs and get some Hoosier Slicks..

Dunno?... There is a church right next door so the race times are limited. The Surrounding land is owned by International Paper and they wouldnt sell him any extra land so he could make it longer. And the shutdown lanes are pretty short. Its not that cheap to get in either. But its always packed.
The closest 1/4 mile track is about 2 hours away and its hard to get enough time to make it there for fun cause i travel alot.



Thanks frenchy, yea its slow but it gets good gas mileage....

 

Nice Kill we need to head to hattiesburg sometime when ya get a chance. I really wanna know what mine will do.
