Default Did I kill this Joe Gibbs truck?

This guy gets behind me today.
All black rcsb.
I thought it was an SS or something.
I gunned it up to the next car.
He took the bait and gets next to me.
We're both stuck behind traffic.
The car in my lane moved ahead and I floored it.
He tries to follow.
From 55-105 he can barely get to my rear bumper.
We get some more traffic.
We break away, he's far left, I'm far right.
70 80 90 100 110 we seem pretty much even, he may be pulling just a tiny bit.
Then as I get to 120 he can't go any faster and I blow by him laughing.
He is pissed and flicks me off.
At the time, I didn't know what truck it was. I only saw an oval emblem.
Come to find out it's a Joe Gibbs truck.
It had to be the 5.3 blown because it was an auto.

Anyway, I don't know if that's a kill.
He was SLIGHTLY faster, until his truck shut off.
All I know is he was mad and I was happy when it was all over!

I haven't dynoed it.
But it feels much stronger throughout the rpm range.
really shines after 4000 rpm.
It was definately a good choice for the stock TC and 3.42s.
It F'n hauls on the highway.
0-25mph is much better than stock, but nothing like a truck with 4.10s and a stall.

Nice kill.
In case you didn't know, not all Joe Gibbs are blown. Some just have a trim package...like mine. Also, you used to be able to buy those badges from Joe Gibbs and put them on anything. Not to take the wind out of your sails but a rcsb (2wd) 5.3 supercharged Gibbs would not be a contest with your ecsb (4wd) with a cam, tune, and bolt-ons.

MJ,

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought joe gibbs RCSB trucks only came in 3 config's. 1st being a 5-speed 4.8 truck with an APPEARANCE PACKAGE ONLY. Then 2nd being a 4.8 5-speed truck with a magnacharger. Then lastly the 5.3L auto truck with a supercharger. If I'm wrong please correct me. The only thing I can see is that they're running the factory tune and then a very conservative 5 lbs of boost. Let's even assume this thing didn't have a supercharger, the guy more than likely had something done to it other than stock or he wouldn't have been able to go up to 112 MPH. And he wouldn't have been so mad that he just got passed by a big 4x4 I've been in Moddoo's truck (not for the race) and it's no slouch let me tell you. I know because I am tuning it for him. Even if that Gibbs truck didn't have a supercharger, I would say Moddoo is running a good solid mid to high 14 second 1/4 mile time. a RCSB 5.3 2wd auto truck with exhaust and a tune will run a 14.7 1/4 mile time, am I correct? Either way Moddoo, I would chalk it up as a good kill

"It had to be the 5.3 blown because it was an auto."

Is this statement true?
I don't know everything.

No chance it was just emblems.
He had the wheels and corsa, sitting level.

Or maybe my truck is slow.

EDIT: Hirdlej, the tune is working O.K.

I've seen 5.3 auto Gibbs trucks without the supercharger. The leather seats were an option too.
