Yep, I saw that video about a month ago. I had to look twice when I noticed the ZO6 had nitrous. That's crazy for a new 2006 car that already makes 500+ hp. People do stupid stuff when they have money, I guess. Like they said on gminsidenews.com, the ZO6 lost some cylinders from the nitrous shot and that's why it lost in the second part of the video. Oh well, if the owner of that ZO6 had enough money to buy the car, add headers, exhaust, and nitrous, he better have enough money to purchase a new LS7!

I thought someone said that they burned a couple pistons in the first run but raced the second run without knowing. That camaro has 600whp with the nitrous i believe so depending on a few things the race should have been close.

On ls1tech they had a little more info on it. I think the guy is loaded. He sprayed it with no tune and burned it up.

Here's some info on what happend to the Z06....

Link to thread,post #55>click here

the moderators at racingsouthwest.com are being stupid and deleting all posts related to the z06 or the shop that did all the work on it (which dropped sponsorship of RSW), so here's the update:

the z06 melted the #2 piston, and it was bad enough that the block is goingto need to be re-sleeved. the shop is pulling the block as i'm writing this to be shipped off for a complete rebuild. i'm betting the owner will upgrade, he has a buttload of money.
i don't like pointing fingers but a little bird told me that the shop that did the install put the nozzle where it was practically spraying straight into the #2 cylinder. i believe itwas put after the throttle body, but i haven't seen it first hand. apparently the shop doesn't consider that to be a problem so they are just going to rebuild the motor and try again. probably with the same result. be careful who you trust to do your work, this motor only had 800 miles on it and i don't doubt it's the first production ls7 to be blown up in the US.

So now you know why you won the second race termin8r.

i don't feel like registering for th emillions of other sites that got this video, so pass the information along.

p.s. z06 w/ only lt's put down 480. what amount it was spraying has changed from post to post, sometimes they said 100 sometimes 150.

oh i see whats going on now... ah well, i wonder what their motive is to have it spraying directing into the #2 cylinder and not any other ones, lol?

the mods took it down so the shop doesnt get any more bad press... its probably experimental at this point... idk i'm no guru on nitrous or direct porting or anything of that.

The Z06 burnt a piston.

The SS burnt several plugs, possibly putting plug material into the block.
