C5 Vette and Myself
#1
After driving around for nearly 5 months with no second gear, I finally got the 4l60 out and put in my 4l80 for the Powertour.
Anyway...heading home from work today on pretty much an open stretch on a highway that heads out of our city. I catch a light with a C5 and I couldn't really tell if he wanted to race or not. Anyway, he launches on me and I have to really nurse it out before I hammer it. I still spun (one legger) but was pulling up next to his door by the middle of second and he shut it down. Then, out of nowhere come (2) sherriffs. One got me and one got him.
My buddy in a TBSS two to three cars behind us said there was an unmarked car that phoned in we were racing to some sherrifs heading the other way.
I got a C&I for drag racing...can't really say it was worth it for beating a Vette and I should have known better doing that during the middle of the day.
The cop was pretty cool and didn't write me up for no seat belt or no front plate or (luckily) no cats. He asked who won as it was hard to tell from where they were. I said we got out of it pretty early
to avoid telling him the real story. Luckily he didn't radar us.
Oh well...guess I need to take it easy for a while.
