Default another lame kill.

well my list is short but it is getting longer.
tonight i raced a friend of mine that has a '93 eclispe GS 2.0 5speed w/ catback, BFgoodrich T/As. it has a new motor, 2.0, he said it is bored? dont know how much though? he traded his 2002 Ninja 250 for it straight up. $1700 is what he paid for the bike.
i had been waiting on this one because he had hyped his car up so much it sounded like it could take a Camaro SS.
well long boring story short. i did all weight reduction i could, spare tire, tailgate, back seat, cleaned truck out( 2 cases of 12ga shells, its dove season right now) a 12ga, .22, ar-15. alot of tools, left my bed cover on without the tailgate. figured it might help a little? only weighs bout20lbs.
i took out my pass. headlight and unbolted my factory exhaust.
well from a dig i torqued it up to 1200-1300rpms and hammered on it on the 3rd honk. i spun from 0-50 all the way through 1st.and then it shifted to 2nd and when i looked in my mirror my friend that was ridin with me said it looked like around 5-6cars by a 1/4 mile. we have it marked off at a road by the house. then went from a 30 roll 3 honks. i left it in OD and just eased up to 30 and waited on the 3rd honk. and then down goes the gas peddle, i spun from 30-50 and it shifted to 2nd and pulled on him hard up to 100, then let out of it. had him by 6 maybe 7cars?

then duff ball in the 3000gt SL wants some more, so i gave it to him again! 2 races 1 from a dig and 1 from a 30 roll.
on the dig i spun again through 1st. and he pulled out front until mine shifted to 2nd, then i reeled him in and got him by 1.5 cars in a 1/4. and on the 30 roll i let him honk 3 times. and AGAIN i spun from 30 till it shifted into 2nd. and well that one was horrible. spun to 40 then it shifted to 2nd and bogged and then down shifted to 1st and spun some more. but i didnt get beat by the mistibushis!

so i guess thats what counts.

oh yea i need some more tires mine are gettin to slick. and they are allterrains with no traction!

My friend Turbo Joe has a VR4 that is(was) just at 4000lbs. The non-VR4 should be a few hundred lbs less..

If you are peeling through 50mph you must have an open differential. My bro had a nice condition 3000 gt SL and ran it in the quarter and pulled something like a 15.3 with traction issues. Get both the tires going and get some traction and you will smoke him worse. Nice kills.

sounds like you need a posi and meatier tires. roll into it from a stop to get minimal tire spin and youll leave them even harder. just stomping down on it and spinning all the way through first kills your times. congrats on teh kills

Thanx for the complements

The 93 Eclipse GS is really not much of a performer. The motor was rated at 135HP (at the flywheel) and it tips in at 2700 or so.
That bout a 20:1 weight to power ratio

If our trucks are 4000lbs (RCSB 2WD) with 270hp (4.8 at the flywheel) we have a 14.8:1 weight to power ratio

no i have a G80 and well it was a smoke show! and i had to contrate on not sliding into the other guys. it was fun. and my tires are almost slick (ya know the ones when you DONT get on the interstate when it rains!) im gettin some new ones next week.
so my truck should weigh bout 4200ish? and my 285crank hp?
i took my stock exhaust off so i could mess with them, both of them have 5speeds so i was goin to see how they did with out hearing their motors and shifting with the tach. they did pretty good ill give them that!

what kind/size tires do you have? do doubt that you can spin it all the way through frist with all that weight reduction. even with stock tires you can launch decently. you just have to feather it out of the hole.
