with those mods and a 28 inch tire, i ran 14.007, and my friends gt ticked off 14.4s and 5's, his was an automatic, pretty good spread for the track

The mods you need to beat him will take you a while to install. Race him now and IF he beats you just tell him you want to run again some day. Then go home and start ordering parts. I would pick up a cold air intake, LONG tube headers (don't waist your time for shortys even if you get a great deal on them), Definatly pick up a stall converter (as to what stall speed do you need is up to you...Everyone will have a different opinion on this) I recently installed a 2500 stall but still haven't had enough time to test it to give you my full opinon but I will tell you that its a COMPLETLY different truck. A higher stall would probably make it even MORE of a different truck. Then get a tune from one of our sponsors you mentioned Wheatly and there have been many people on this site using Wheatly with great results as well as our other sponsors so its up to you.

Another way to look at this is to call up the tune sponsor of your choice and talk to them about the mods you want to do. I would imagine they can't tell you if you put mods A,B,and C on your truck you WILL beat car X. but they can help steer you into the right direction.

well i actually dont know where hes been actually......havent seen him around town, i do have some news tho, beat a stock 04 gt to 85 from a stoplight a couple days ago... pretty awesome, not by much but still really cool, just makes me think what'll happen after i do some stuff to it...

i actually have a question for yall out there, where im going to college is a high performance technical school (School of Automotive Machinists in Houston) and most of the people that go there have nice muscle cars, ls1 trans ams and the like. my question is what do i have to have done to my truck on the stock motor naturally aspirated to keep up with stock ls trans ams?

thanks

Stick to the mustangs, you wont have a chance with the ls powered camaro/firebirds without extensive mods or some nitrous.
