Alright so the battery issue is all squared away... but I have 2 new codes that popped up this AM.
I have been having TCC lock up issues and this may help explain it, copied right from HPT:
P0103 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit High Frequency (SES) (Pending) (Old) (History) (Current) (Immature)
P2761 - Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit/Open (SES) (Pending) (Old) (History) (Current) (Immature)
Whats funny is I run a SD tune... not sure how the MAF code makes any sense.
In other news, I got the longer PR's in there last night and it didnt make any difference with the noise. I'm pretty sure I have a noisy lifter. I'm really pissed I didn't swap them out on the last head swap for LS7 lifters...
Oh and I like the way it drive so far. This tranny is MUCH smoother than any tuned 60e is. My shifts are really soft right now, but so far so good. I'll keep you all posted as I get the trans tune dialed in.

You can not run Speed Density if the P0103 is NOT stored!! You are failing the MAF therefor it throws the code which inturn means you are running speed density, which is what we are after if you run a 2 or 3 bar map sensor!!

Rob, part of going SD is setting the MAF fail frequency to 0. Doing so causes the code to trip and force it into SD. Check that TCC solenoid and make sure you didn't forget to plug it in. If its plugged in then check over the wiring in the pan and make sure you have continuity between the solenoid plug and the case connector.

Thanks for the help guys... I didn't realize that yesterday morning, but it makes perfect sense. Now to track down that solenoid issue...
As far as the lifter is concerned, how would I track that down?

That sux having lifter issues . You can't tell which side it is ?
But if you know for sure it's a lifter you might as well change them , it might be discouraging but it's something you can't avoid specially with the intended use of your truck

I can't believe that... Such a bummer man. The good news it you have another cam ready to go in. Guess that pro charger is gonna get some use this season after all.
I say you skip the cage this season and just let out at the 1/8 mile mark. Can you hit 100 mph in the 1/8?? Lol that would put you in 10 second range

Two steps forward and one step back. That sucks about the lifter. I've had good luck with the LS7 lifters and it might be best just to change the works.
I'm guessing you're using stock rockers. Did you upgrade the trunnions?
You're headed steadily in the right direction. Just a couple of speed bumps along the way.
