i've got a few other little things i want to do first
the dip job is on the back burner. i'd rather not be cutting and welding around a rubberized dip. i'm also not happy with my current fuel system and battery relocation. once everything is hot the voltage drops a hair. i need the fuel pressure at 7psi and cannot get it below 8psi. my return line is too small for my pump.

a little weight reduction coming to the s10. I don't want this truck to appear gutted or chopped. the locals will cry that it's a tin can but it definitely has some weight to lose. I couldn't believe how heavy the rear bumper was on this truck. I think this will save atleast 40 lbs.

I'm going to probably lose the speakers out of the dash. when I fade the radio to the front, you can barely hear them anyways. the door speakers make 90% of the noise.
I put a heater box on the truck along with a new heater motor...then when I removed the carpet I found that the heater has been leaking in the floor board. I'm not spending money on it. heater box and motor are coming out along with all of the crap under the dash that I will no longer need. I'll put a vintage air system in it someday, but for now, it's useless ****. the switch panel for nitrous, 2 step, trans brake will go where the current AC controller is. I looked into glass front bumpers and don't feel like spending that much. some people gut the inside of the front fenders and lose the fender wells. I don't think I want to go that far even though I know these steel fender wells are heavy as hell. I hope to lose around 70bs in this round of weight reduction.
can anyone recommend a shop in Houston to weld in a pan and tailgate kit?

Your alive! I thought you masterbated to death!
Good luck on the weight reduction. Btw, you have a welder, weld in those parts yourself, it is pretty easy, just do spot welds pausing inbetween tacks to keep it from warping.

oh, I also seem to have the bugs worked. it's to the point that I don't worry about anything when I take it for a cruise. been putting some miles on it flawlessly. it's time to start pushing it harder. I've been short shifting 6,700 rpm instead of 7,300. I also think I can get another 5* of timing into the motor. only been launching at 1,500 RPM with a 6,000 converter. when I get new tires I'm guna see how it does foot braking 4000 to 4,500. then it's time for the 2 step, trans brake and nitrous. a 10.5 N/A would be awesome before hitting it with a 200 shot.

I have a paint and body phobia. I have no desire to even attempt it. I judge my own work a lot harder than if I just have someone else do it. if I did the work, I will know EVERY little flaw and it will drive me ape **** crazy even though it's not a show truck.
