I dont like the design. Will stop axle wrap but thats about it. hope it works for him. I already have caltracs anyways. Im also running sliders instead of shackles so that design could bind me up more than a shackle truck

BigEd_72455 12-29-2013 07:28 PM

Well yeah, that's what it is supposed to do, STOP AXLE WRAP..

sheesh!! Some guys

caltracs just do more. stop axle wrap and plant the tires harder.

need to make the title txsilverado2.0/3.0. the HD is getting more work than the s10. HD had a massive cold start exhaust leak from the drivers manifold. rear 2 bolts were broken along with the front bolt. luckily 2/3 bolts broke under the head of the bolt and I had a good chunk of thread sticking out to grab onto. I left the rear bolt broken off, did a good copper coat on the factory manifold gasket and put it back together with grade 8 bolts with antisieze. also did new plugs and wires. embarrassing cold starts are cured, and this is the first motor that I have had that doesn't have piston slap on cold starts. still has seafoam in the crank case.

before the truck got a max of 300 miles to a full tank. right now i'm at 280 and have 1/4 tank left. all freeway between 75 and 86 through the hills of east texas. the factory plugs and wires had 185,000 miles on them and looked great! seriously...I almost put them back in but went ahead and put in some tr55 gapped at .o55 because I got a random multiple misfire a few weeks ago.

next on the HD list is dumping the EGR system, new carrier bearing, and new fuel pump. is the tank on an HD any different than a standard 1500 Silverado? I was thinking about calling up junkyards and trying to find a full assembly from an 07 classic. I noticed my fuel gauge jump once on the way home so the sending unit is close to going. might as well do the entire assy and i'm big on OEM parts.

look in your owners manual if you have one. If both chassis are showing to have the same size tank, which I believe is a 34 gallon tank, they should swap out just fine, sending units and all. I had a 2000 silverado standard cab long bed that had the biggest tank they put in those chassis.. I had the 4.8 and 2wd and I got 475+ per tank.

Pick your submodel from the list and get your info..

I have NO problems with planting the tires, remember, I weigh 480 pounds!!

I thought the 2500HD had a 32 gallon tank, but it seems like a 27 gallon when I fill it. it's tough to tell because when that low fuel light comes on, you better find your ass a gas station because the weak fuel pump really starts to show that it's weak. 2x now I've chugged into a gas station. i'm used to going a pretty good ways after the light comes on.
