Whatever is rubbing, will have generated enough heat to be hotter than the surrounding parts. You could also mount a go pro camera under the vehicle and point at the brake assembly to get a better view of what happening when your turning
You are right...i did check for rim issues as well and found none...

i also did check for temp differences on the rear brakes to see if it was dragging and they were pretty much within 5-7°F of each other so that was good news...we even did some E-brake drag tests while turning to see if she would change note and she didn't...

Next on the list is the go pro idea...ill just have to find a go pro as the old one got busted...

This is thinking outside the box, but would the shocks make this noise??? i still have the old OEM air ride shocks and compressor.

Unless something is binding up against it.... i wouldnt suspect it unless the shackles are interfering with something. Does the pitch of the noise change in speed while turning? Checked for any foriegn materials lodged between the brake, rotor, and dust cover? i.e rocks?

The noise seems to be the same regardless of speed...thats why im sure its not a brake or rotating assembly issue...

No rocks lodged anywhere, took both rear brake rotors and calipers off and no scratches or witness marks of any sort...

Well the only things that spin when you are moving are the driveshaft, axles/carrier, rotors, and wheels/tires. Its got to be one of those....

I still feel like it sounds like the shield, it doesn't sound like a think metal causing the sound. Your saying the noise doesn't change with wheel RPM?

From left field, are you sure your exhaust isn't shifting or something and its vibrating on something when your turning?

To me it's sounds like rotor is coming into contact with the mount....The frequency of the noise is very similar to a rotor noise. Also when you turn from left to right the axles do move in and out a slight bit because of the c clip style rear diff.... I had to grind my Z06 mounts and backing plates to prevent rubbing noises on my Denali... I know that you aren't running Z06 brakes but it's worth looking and them again....

Hmmm, interesting...also interesting that Z06 brakes would make work in the rear...

I took the brakes off to inspect the rotors and they didnt seem to be touching...do you have any pictures of where you had to grind off? maybe its barely touching so it is not enough to scar the rotors...
