Rebuilding an 83 chevy truck and I have inherited 2 chevy vans with the vortec 5.7 engines & transmissions in both of them. One has the 4l60e and the other is the 4l65e.. One is a 3/4 ton and the other is a 1 ton. The trannies are different. What would you guys do? Take all the running gear and harness and drop it in the 83, or carb it with an electric pump and be almost done with it? Also working on an Impala project.. The plan was to do the same with it.. Both vans are running. I just have no use for 2 cargo vans.. So why not have fun with the parts.. If you have any questions just ask. Suggestions would be great!

 

I suggest you sell the vans and switch to an LS based project. Also, there was never a 4l65 mated to a 5.7l unless it was an LSx, the 1 ton probably has a 4l80.
