Default Silver Bullet Build Thread

Hey guys thought I'd start a post now on the build now that it's taking steam.

First a little about the truck. I purchased the truck from a good buddy Erik, the owner of Lashway Motorsports in South Florida. It's a 2007 bone stock RCSB. He had done some cosmetic upgrades before I purchased the truck like a rear roll pan, Lowered with spindles, Cowl hood and SS bumper and grill. Car originally had 22s but those had to go. Otherwise it was a stock 4.8 and Trans.

He was going to build it but instead purchased and built a NASTY F1 procharged Blazer instead. So I scooped in and purchased the truck for a excellent price and he hooked me up amazing on putting it together. Class act!

I'm trying to stay within a certain budget and so far it's working out nicely. There are some budget purchases and some expensive purchases but staying within my budget is key.

So I immediately sold the motor and Trans and picked up a slightly used LS3 long block from a 2011 Camaro. I had Tim Eichhorn at MPR build the shortblock with Texas Speed forged 418 stroker rotating assembly. All new ARP hardware in entire engine with custom Wiseco pistons. I'm using stock LSA heads with Morel race solid bar lifters and PAC springs etc. Brian Tooley custom grind Camshaft.

I'm using a Holley Hi Ram intake with NW 102mm TB and Holley Hi valve covers. I have some ARH headers on the way as well as ID1300s. The fuel system is twin stealth 340s with Teflon lines up to Fore regulator and Holley rails. They are putting in a Surge tank as well as this truck will be on e85.

I purchased a D1 procharger kit with big intercooler and red BOV from Erik because I want to make solid power but streetable power. This is a "street truck"...

Maybe I'll step it up to a F1 but we will see what this makes first. We decided to use a House of boost 8 rib bracket system that looks mighty stout.

Exhaust is ARH no cats into stainless works mufflers dumped.

The rear is a Moser M9 with 35 spline axles, Yukon nodular iron case, HD spool and 3.50 gears. Willwood racing brakes and a 5" Texas driveshaft specialties with billet yolks. Caltracs low profile traction bars also installed. BTW to anyone who wants to know, this came from a forum member here (thanks for the hookup!) and was out of his 2002 Sierra 1500 RCSB. Our trucks are the same in the rear as this bolted directly into my rear with zero modification besides rear shock relocate. Did not have to move spring perches at all!!

Driveline is jakes performance lvel44l80e with their triple disk billetconverter and Coan billet flexplate.

Front brakes are 1320 wheels 5 lug hub conversion they are making into a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Another member here is drilling me new rotors for this as well. Front wheels are 17x5 weld alumastars with MT Sportsman SR 28" radial skinny and Rear wheels are Champion 15x10 beadlocks with MT ET street S/S 295/65r15.

I'm sure I'm missing something but I will add pictures as he sends them to me and I roll by the shop when I can. We are going to obviously be adding essentials like custom oil breather setup and some other trick goodies.

hoping to make Some stout streetable power and the driveline is built to handle all the abuse I can throw at it. In the future I will look into some mast heads and hopefully the block holds. Otherwise I'll have to sleeve it and upgrade rotating assembly at that point, put on a F1 and everything else should fall in place.

Enjoy I'll keep posting pics as progress goes

So those rear tires are the new street s/s? Seems like alot less tread but more water friendly if that makes sense lol.

Thanks guys, just been collecting parts last few months and Lashway wanted to get 90%+ of parts together before going at it. He's helping me out big time so he hammers at it after hours living at the shop! He's done all this in just a few days! Erik is going to put in Trans/converter now and get that all buttoned up. I'll update pics as he sends them my way. He is fabbing up new piping for intercooler mounting up front next. Stay tuned.
