Had my windshield replaced by Safelite yesterday. I wanted the windshield with the blue solar strip at the top and they screwed up and put the wrong windshield in. Ended up giving me $125 off which should cover the cost to get it tinted. Probably do 50% shield and 1% strip.

My tint shop threw the eyebrow in for free when they did my windshield. I went 20% on my brow and 90% on the rest. Looking back should have done 75% like my Durango.

50% is the best. 35% gets too much attention imo

I guess I figured out why my map lights wouldn't light up without hitting the cargo light, not exactly but I got them working properly again so it seems. I swapped both of the SuperBrightLED bulbs I put in there originally with some Morimoto XB 194s, hit the button and they would come on very dim but not come on all the way. Pulled the dome light bulbs out (Also SBLEDs) and hit the button and they come on full brightness. I ordered some new bulbs for the dome light.

My cab lights have been flickering for the past year or so. Swapped out two of them for some Morimoto XB bulbs and noticed that the cab light bulbs I pulled out looked awfully brown and burnt. You could see some of the solder has dissipated or is just not on there correctly anymore. Anyhow, ordered some new bulbs from Morimoto to finish off the rest. They are WAY brighter than the old SBLED bulbs which is very nice. I always felt like my cab lights were way too dim.

#1. Curious why you chose Safelite?
#2. Curious before the discount, what were they going to charge?

@1FastBrick I had the new bulbs in my shop for like 6 months lol

1) Went with Safelite because I had them replace my Silverado windshield. Honestly this is probably the last time I use them. They fucked up my headliner on the Silverado all those years ago and had to pay for it (fine it was old and that was a win) but now they fucked up the glass install. The one thing they are good at is customer service. So I really am on the fence. I had just used Auto Glass Now! to replace a front passenger window on my grandma's 2011 Cadillac SRX and they were great. So no real reason other than AGN's website wouldn't let me get a quote and said that my VIN was wrong. Safelite's site worked.
2) $397.63 was the original invoice. There was actually a deal to get a windshield and wiper replacement at the same time that ended up being $6 cheaper than just the windshield replacement. After the mistake my total came out to $262.31.

Oh my lord... Now I haven't had one in a few years but it was $159 for standard glass on the ole silverado and Safe light wanted over 300 for the same standard glass... I choose a glass made in Canada, Not CHINA so it was $179. Also made them special order it with the Blue tint at the top. Love that ****!!!

I wanted the blue tint at the top but they gave me the one without it. I'll get it tinted over anyway so $125 off was worth it to me.

I dug up my Silverado windshield replacement back in 2020. $232.35 OTD.

Interior LEDs not fixed. Read about constant current, ordered Diode Dynamics all the way around inside. If this doesn’t fix it I’m burning it down
