Me too, there is no way I can afford a transmission rebuild right now. It shifted great in my other truck.

It literally feels like it goes 1st to 3rd. It bucks, and surges after the shift like a manual transmission car when it has a huge cam and needs a lower gear. I tried tow haul, better shift points - but violent shifts even at light throttle. I am going to baby it to the shop tomorrow morning.

Just got back from filling it up with gas. It has all gears, locks the converter, etc. It just tries to shift 1-2-D, then lick the converter about 15 feet out of the driveway. If I manually shift it, it's much better.

I am already putting it to work, going to move my dad's C10 so we can get it on the lift and finish it.

The truck is back together after the chassis dyno mishap with the driveshaft. I am going to post pictures of the yoke and universal joint that used in hopes that it helps someone else in the future. The yoke in my truck got destroyed, I happened to have a spare out of a 99' 3500 van with a 4L80E.

It would seem that the Walbro pump **** the bed. Damn thing left me stranded this morning. I am ready to burn this thing to the ground.

I have been driving it daily. The tune still isn't 100%, but works for now. I am going to leave it as is while my bank account recovers.

I would like to do a set of cylinder heads next year. For right now, I am eyeing a tru cool 40K as the next "mod."

Tru Cool 40K ordered... now trying to plan out my next mods. I am considering switching to 1.875" headers from my current 1.75" headers. Thinking a set of ported heads. And possibly a different TQ converter.

I still want to keep the truck drivable, and not hurt the ability to tow a car trailer. I want to keep the mods focused on low end grunt and power under the curve vs. peak numbers.

Tru Cool showed up Saturday, still waiting on the brackets. Looking at diff covers, and finally going to buy an upgraded drive shaft - it's looking like I am going for a Denny's 3.5" HD driveshaft.

The truck is currently tuned for 87 octane... any thoughts on if it's worth having it tuned for 93 or E85? I am on a base tune currently. It runs and drives OK, but really needs a final tune to get it 100%.

Also, I attached a picture of what came out of the catch can after 1K miles.

I'm running a Denny's 3.5 in my '04 GMC RCSB StepSide - very pleased with it. Even more so when I recently swapped in the 80e and didn't have to alter it.
