I did plan on pushing it pretty good...need a new game plan now though. Strokers can have more side loading, shouldn't see that on a 6.0 though.

Unfortunately relying on experienced people got me broke and two stroker motors that burnt oil. It's almost like you have to become an expert in whatever you do because the experts aren't worth a ****.

Skirt damage is why whenever someone talks about doing a stroker I tell them to do it in an aluminum block due to the longer cylinders. Yours looks like its just a victim of poor machining and if you haven't already done it, its a good idea to radius the bottom of the cylinder walls.

 

Couldn't have said it better myself. Haven't dug in real deep measuring yet, after seeing the pistons I figured I was already pissed off enough for today. Back to the 4.8 idea now...not sure what I will do with the 6.0 hardware yet. Probably take my sweet *** time hunting for a good machining shop and build it into something else.

sorry to see those pics ... I Worked at a machine shop for 6 years that built a high percentage of dirt oval motors ... pistons didnt even look like that after a full race season and those guys dont let off the pedal unless they wreck or grab the checkered for 20 laps at a time !!! I would throw the worst piston through the front window of thier shop!!! Too bad your so far away I would give you an 07 4.8 to use until your 6.0 was done so you didnt have to change your harness set up .. good luck man Your better than I , because I would have been locked up

 

only pistons that I have seen "grow" that much would be a hyper and if that is from piston rock ( which is exactly what it looks like) I wouldnt expect that unless stroke was 4" or higher and nitrous Fck that place. Sorry but that sht pisses me off . What was your ring gaps? were all the cylinders consitant?

 

There's some streaking on all of the cylinder walls. Nothing major, but more than there should be for the mileage.

Funny you mention that, because the guy who did mine does primarily circle track cars. I'm not sure how to even approach the situation concerning that machinist. I admit its my fault for accepting the block with that clearance in the first place, but he stood behind his work with a smile on his face. I wasn't about to challenge his judgement with 30 years of experience, but hindsight is 20-20... Anybody else ever had to bring their broken **** back to the machinist? If so, what was the result?
