project timing chain :D

Default project timing chain :D

just about to start a build, i have a 95 z71 and was wondering how hard replacing my timing chain would be... and what do i need

Not hard at all, just get #1 cylinder on TDC on compression stroke then line the dots up on the timing chain. And, thats about it when you start just google SBC 350 timing chain marks for images and you should find it

what tools do i need?

Outside of normal hand tools you will need a harmonic balancer puller, torque wrench and maybe a power steering pulley puller ... You will need a balancer installer to put it back on. The steering puller is also an installer if you need that.
