Project iSpool - 2000 RCLB
#21
got a chance to do some work to the rig today. Got the multi disk convertor back from Yank with 2800 stall, put it in..ran great first 10 miles, then started to act funny with the shifts, especially 1st gear from a dead stop. limped it home. at this point I was very close to pulling that stupid automatic 80 out and start looking for an NV4500;,lol
But I held my whits....
dropped the pan. I was very glad find no clutch material laying in the pan. I Changed the filter, added quart of lucas oil. Put her back together. WOW finally she is good to go! the new multi disk lockup really seems to grab nice. l can get her to lock in 3rd and 4th. really sets ya back in the seat now.
The lower stall (new 2800) (old 3200) makes a world of difference driving around town. I love it.. spools so much faster and feel that low end torque from the cam now with out the verter slipping right past it.

It was a nice cold crisp christmas eve morning here in New England..
Even got a chance to work on the 71' today. upgraded power steering gear box to 84-87 style. By far best modification done to that truck...
