Sounds awesome!

What bolt holes did you use to hook the engine hoist to? That looks like a much simplier way than using the bolt holes on the sides and rear of the heads!

thanks, I used the two center valley cover holes. I left the cover on, and used a longer 10.9 grade bolt set. 8mm x 1.25. I used two of the same bolts to pull 800-1000 pound cat motors out of a topkick, so I knew it would be ok for a little motor.

nice..did you get any times dyno numbers out of this?
im doing a very similar setup on my extended cab, ls1 as well...i want to get more a less around figure of what she'll be putting down.

I ran a LS1 in an extended cab.


bone stock with full bolt ons it went 13.26
with a cam it went 12.49
with budget ls6 heads it went 12.19
on a 125 shot it went 11.59


the truck seemed to run better than most for some reason.

I never knew you got your ex-cab that fast....would have been interesting to see how far you could have taken if it is wasn't stolen

that was on the LS1. it had a 408 and 200 shot on it after the LS1. never got it to the track though.
