Default The new project/ DD

Well, just picked up a new (for me) 03 Silverado. Currently the only thing done to it are a set of long tubes, but I am strongly toying with the idea of a turbo build as soon as I finish college. For now it will be getting a tune and an E-fan setup. Prolly will lower the rear an inch or two as well.

If you are strongly considering the turbo set up look into buying EFI live as apposed to just getting a custom tune. Justin will email tune your truck for free and it will allow you to upgrade the tune once you go turbo.

I speak from experience because I had my custom tune done a wile back not looking to the future. I now have a 408 that is very radical and Justin won't be able to tune it with any justice unless I buy EFI live and have him help me tune it via email.

Thanks for the info, I may have to look into that. However I will be doing the custom tune for the time being, as it will prolly be a few years before I can afford and have the space to set up a turbo build on it. Also I need to read up some more on tuning as well before I start into playing with EFI Live or HP Tuners on there.

I understand it will be down the road if ever. But if you ever plan to possibly buy another truck that the EFI live will work on you will be better off to spend the $600 or so now.

$250 for a custom mail order tune then if you get another truck that makes $500 or more if the price is raised.

The EFI live is around $600 last I looked and Justin will tune it for you via email. The instant advantage is you will get a perfect tune since you can completely tailor it to your current truck. This may be able to net you better millage gains if that is the goal or it will certainly let you squeeze a few more hp from the custom tune.

Plus it will be needed down the road if you ever get radical with the motor or build the turbo.

Again not telling you what to do but just trying to help you save money in the long run if it is in the cards right now to spend the extra cash and reap instant and long term benefits.
