Good choice on converter. Heard a lot about them with turbo set ups!

Decided to pull the trans in my truck today. Walked in the shop and saw this. I guess my dad had been working on it for a buddy of his. Really sharp truck. My pictures dont do it justice.

You guys know the rest of the story. Got the trans out. Heres a comparison of the torque converters.

Also, I broke my damn v band for my turbo to down pipe. Hopefully I can repair it or I will be down for a few days while I order one. Anyone have ideas?

Weld stud back together. Tried this on one of my broke ones. It didn't work.

Just order a new one and make sure not to overtighten it.

was it from being over tight>? most of those clamps only call for 22ft/lbs

Nice work! Gotta love DIY builds.

Just curious, why did you bring it back to stock height? Drive on rough roads often? that is a primo c10, btw

There is a 100% chance I overtightened it. It kept wanting to leak there, then I found a gasket that fit it.

Truck was lowered for 40k miles. The 3/6 was perfect IMO. Then I put spring clamps and cut 3/4 of a coil out of the front. That probably sit closer to a 5/7 then. I'm 90% sure the spring clamps lowered it. That's when it was too low IMO. The icing on the cake was when I did the 80 swap. That moved the already too low trans cross member more towards the center of the truck. This made it drag a lot more. It was pretty bad at ~5/7 with a 80e cross member. So I just decided to try stock for a while.
